ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (235-228 B.C.), silver stater, (6.50 grams), obv. Hippokontist in close fitting lorica and hurling short javelin on horse galloping to right, to left a wreath, below **OLVMPIS in one line, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding a kantharos and cornucopiae, to right a tripod, **T APA[S] below, (cf.S.378, Vl.942, SNG ANS 1249). Very fine.
