NERO AS CAESAR, (50-54 A.D.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, struck under Claudius, A.D. 51, (3.52 g), obv. bare head of Nero draped to right, around [NERON]I CLAVDIO DRVSO GERM COS DESI[GN], rev. EQVESTER-OR DO-PRINCIPI-IVVENT, in four lines on shield with vertical spear behind, (S.1918, RSC 97, RIC 79). Light toning, some surface pitting, very fine and rare.
