ELAGABALUS, (A.D. 218-222), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 220-221, (2.84 g), obv. laureate bust of Elagabalus draped to right, around IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. around LIBERTAS AVG, Libertas standing to half left holding pileus and sceptre, star to right, (S.7523, BMC 221, RIC 107, RSC 92) (illustrated); another, (2.94 g), rev. Victory running right holding wreath and palm, (cf.S.7553, RIC 156, RSC 289); another, (2.64 g), rev. Abundantia standing to left emptying cornucopiae held with both hands, star to left, (S.7501, RIC 56, RSC 1a); another, (3.32 g), rev. Elagabalus standing left holding patera over lighted altar and holding branch, (S.7536, RIC 46, RSC 196). Toning, good fine - nearly extremely fine. (4)
