TX1160 L.T.McGuinness Impressed.; also the Supplement to The London Gazette of Tuesday, the 6th of November, 1945, number 37340, pp5431 to 5462 detailing the award of the Victoria Cross to NX20317 Corporal John Bernard Mackey 2/3 Australian Pioneer Bn and WX11519 Private Leslie Thomas Starcevich 2/43 Australian Infy Bn and other Australian awards. The medal with short ribbon, contact marks and toning, otherwise very fine, the document good very fine. (2)

Lawrence Trevor McGuinness, fisherman, age 28, born at Sorell, Tas; Enl.08Apr1940 at Brighton, Tas in 2/3 Field Coy RAE; Emb.30Aug1940; to Palestine and Gaza Ridge in the Middle East and then to Greece/Crete 24Mar1941 for service and returned to Middle East during June1941; various other postings including to hospital in 1942; Disch.03Jul1945; Died 02Dec1982; awarded 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45.
